Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Cathedral
Join us on Monday, September 12 to tour the magnificent Catholic cathedral in Raleigh. Dedicated in 2017, it is the 5th largest cathedral in the United States having a capacity of 2,000. With high ceilings, repeating arches, large alter and stunning dome, it reminds me of cathedrals of the Vatican.
We will be meeting at the Southern Pines train station at 8:30 a.m. to car pool. Or meet us at the cathedral at 10 a.m. The GPS address is 715 Nazareth St. Bring your wide angle lens to get the epic shot of the large altar and dome in the same shot. If you must, bring another lens - but travel light is always a good idea. Something like a 24-120 mm lens is ideal for travel photography. Also, no tripods are allowed inside and so is flash photography.
Lunch is at Lucky 23 in Cary.
Please let me know if you are interested via email (jpatota@gmail.com) or respond to the event on Carolina Photo Walks FaceBook page. And, tell a friend.
